The Cast

Long before she held court as a finalist on season 7 of "RuPaul's Drag Race", Ginger reigned as The Comedy Queen of The South from her home base in Orlando, Florida. The self-professed "nicest bitch you'll ever meet" cites classic funny ladies Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball as her idols. "Anyone who can pile three wigs on their head, squeeze their body into a beaded and rhinestone gown and serve humor alongside the glamour is my hero," says Ginger. That's why she coined the term "Glamour Toad" to describe her unique persona. After spending the past year and a half touring the world, performing showtunes for Broadway royalty on national television and recording her debut studio album, Ginger competed on "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars" Season 2 and was featured as Candee Disch in the Netflix original comedy "Dumplin'".

Actor, musician, and queen extraordinaire, Jinkx Monsoon was the winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 5. In 2002 at 15 years old, she performed in drag for the first time at the underground nightclub "Escape". Jinkx then came into the public eye on the Funny or Die web series "Monsoon Season", as an over-bearing, psychotic mother to Kamikaze Monsoon (played by Nick Sahoya). She is now a hard-working single mother with ambition. Since winning RuPaul's Drag Race, she has toured the world performing her original cabaret "The Vaudevillians" with musical partner Dr. Dan von Dandy. Her web show, "Cool Mom," co-starring Nick Sahoya, can be seen exclusively on WOW Presents.

formed the Electric Light Orchestra, or E.L.O., in the 1970 s. The group gradually developed from cult favorites into one of the 70s' leading recording acts, scoring international success with several platinum-selling albums, including A New World Record and Out of The Blue. Lynne's dual talents as a composer and producer ensured the group's status but, sensing an artistic sterility, he abandoned his creation in 1986. The artist then assumed an increasingly backroom role but won praise for his production work with George Harrison (Cloud Nine), Randy Newman (Land of Dreams) and Roy Orbison (Mystery Girl) and he has also contributed his distinctive production qualities to much of Tom Petty s recent output. Lynne's work with Orbison coincided with his position as 'Otis Wilbury' in the Traveling Wilburys, an informal 'supergroup' completed by Orbison, Harrison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. This particularly prolific period was also marked by his work with Brian Wilson on the ex-Beach Boys' first long-awaited solo album. In recent years, Lynne has produced the Beatles lost tapes, notably Free as a Bird and Real Love. He co-produced Paul McCartney's Flaming Pie in 1997.

left Australia in 1970 at the invitation of the legendary English group The Shadows; they recorded six albums together. During a break he began working with Olivia Newton-John. He went on to produce 14 albums for her. After winning a Grammy (Record of the Year) for "I Honestly Love You," he moved to L.A. where he wrote and produced many of her hits: "Have You Never Been Mellow?," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" (Academy Award nom.), "You're the Once That I Want" (Golden Globe nom.), "Don't Stop Believing" "A Little More Love," "Magic," "Suddenly," "Sam," "Make a Move on Me." He also produced the mega-hit "Physical." In 1995 he co-wrote with Tim Rice the songs for the Cliff Richard musical Heathcliff. He co-wrote with Francis Ford Coppola the songs for a new musical, Gidget.

is highly regarded for his re-imagined versions of classic musicals. His 10-person Oliver! was commissioned by Stage Entertainment and had its inaugural production at the Human Race Theatre Company, with choreography by Spencer Liff. He worked in conjunction with the Lerner Estate on his post-modern and highly celebrated Camelot for the Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago, where he also mounted a provocative, madcap, Vegas-themed Joseph…Dreamcoat and a rather progressive and highly stylized take on Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Alan has also directed plays and musicals for Laguna Playhouse, Olney Theatre, Arkansas Repertory, Walnut Street Theatre, The New Theatre, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre, 3D Theatricals, Texas Shakespeare Festival, and the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport, among others. He has directed many world-premieres, including The Little Hours (based on the short stories of Dorothy Parker), Exposure Time, and Multiple Family Dwelling for NJ Repertory and, most recently, Mourning the Living at the Abingdon Theatre in NYC. He was nominated for the 2008 Carbonell Award, has received multiple Edgerton Foundation Grants for New Works, and has had his work recorded for the National Theatre Archive.

About The Show

XANADU, the hilarious roller-skating musical adventure, hailed as “the most fun you’ll have on Broadway” (The New Yorker), returns in a national tour with some fierce new twists! XANADU follows the beautiful Greek muse Kira, as she journeys from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, circa 1980, on a quest to inspire scrappy artist-on-the-rise Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! But when Kira stumbles into forbidden love with Sonny, a mere mortal, her salty sisters (RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Ginger Minj and Jinkx Monsoon) take matters into their own hands.

Based on the 1980 cult film starring Olivia Newton-John, the Tony Award®-nominated musical features a book by Douglas Carter Beane and an original hit score by pop-rock legends Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) and John Farrar. This production will be directed by Alan Souza and choreographed by Maxx Reed. XANADU is a crowd-pleasing, feel-good bop of a Technicolor musical that has audiences jumping out of their seats in tongue-popping bliss! “If you can’t beat ’em, slap on some roller skates and join ’em” (The New York Times).

XANADU will be visiting the following cities in 2019/2020 with additional cities to be announced: Cincinnati, Syracuse, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Indianapolis, Buffalo, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Charlotte and San Francisco.
